Pop 5: Islands I want to see return to Poptropica

Hello Poptropicans! It's Raki Joker. One of my first posts that aren't new posts for 2020, the POP5 list is done.

With the new version of Island Zomberry on the horizon (or is it already on the horizon? Still waiting...), it's time to make a list of islands that will hopefully come back to the game with a full sound update one day. Let's get started! (For those who haven't played all the old islands, beware of spoilers).

#5: Mystery Train Island 🔍

Let's start the list with the Mysterious Train Island, probably one of Poptropica's most popular adventures and one of my personal favorites. Each island has its own theme, and this one's theme is a classic but exciting investigation that takes place at the end of the Victorian era. How fascinating? Exactly.

I can only imagine how calm and peaceful it will be when the soundtrack is updated with a gentle piano playing game. Can I even talk about how awesome (or should I say, awesome...) the boss level is? In my opinion, this is one of the most climactic scenes in the entire game. Breecheno, it would have been perfect for her.

#4: Wild West Island 🌵

In fourth place is another favorite of Poptropica fans, the Wild West Island! This western-like getaway has a lot of funny and exciting moments. Thanks to a lot of western mini-games, slang and scenery, this island creates a special and fun experience that you can 100% immerse yourself in.

As for the choice of soundtrack, you can't go wrong - this is, of course, western-style folk music! Give Jeff Heim Bango a guitar and a gun and you'll have at least a dozen hillbilly-style hits. In my opinion, we still need to hear that kind of sound in Poptropica.

#3: Super Villain Island ⚡

In the middle, third place is Island of Surveillance! There's no way an island with Poptropica's four biggest villains wouldn't be on this list. In my opinion, SVI has the most creative and non-standard concept, it's like a cool science and fantasy movie or something, and of course, one of the coolest Poptropica characters.

There are so many great songs, from the roaring storm across the ocean, to the dreams of each villain, to the big final battle! I can almost hear it. Supervillains should come back, they should.

#2: Game Show Island 🤖

Right behind it, the fantastic clockwork extravaganza of the Game Show Peninsula unfolded! Of course, it's not the best one that has appeared on screens in the last 12 and a half years, but Game Show is one of the most cheerful islands in the game. All the mini-games and funny bots make the Peninsula exciting and entertaining. I think the revamped soundscape really enhances this.

Each location has the option to have its own background music. For the metropolis of Istanbul, a gypsy-like motif with a modern twist would be good, as it would convey the unique sound of Turkey. For the Land of the Rising Sun, I think a cute or electronic song would be good, to get your heart racing during Mr. Yoshi's Super Awesome Challenge. The Russian Federation is quite diverse, and a remix of the national anthem would be enough, for example. In Miami, a hip-hop song would be enough. And in Buenos Aires, it is definitely possible to create an atmosphere with the colorful emotions of the tango. You can hear the whole universe on one island! (Not to mention the mechanical and technical sound equipment).

Honorable Mentions

So before I tell you about my own number one pick, let me introduce some of my other favorite islands that are practically included in this list: Superpower Peninsula, Nabooti Peninsula, Counterfeit Peninsula! All of them are great classics and deserve to be in the top 5.

And now the long-awaited moment: the trophy I most want to get back from the peninsula.... The one who gets this stunning, cool, unique, one-of-a-kind trophy is....

#1: Astro-Knights Island 🚀

Astro Knight Peninsula! This interesting quest is one of a kind and is definitely one of my favorites (alongside "Mythology")! This galactic peninsula is full of mythology, action and adventure.

Can't you imagine the melodies of the Dark Knight flowing through the mean streets of Fallen Arthur? You can literally imagine it! Apart from this, you could also choose the celestial melodies for traveling the stars or the heavy orchestral symphonies with the dynamics of the battle to defeat the evil Binary Birds.

Astro-Knights is an essential game for Poptropica players and will definitely be back on the map. What do you think?
